A great day with a Blogger friend!

Yesterday, I went into Springfield to meet friend and fellow blogger Danni of Silo Hill Farm. Danni was one of the first people I 'met' when I started reading blogs, and without her encouragement and help, I doubt I ever would have started my own blog. We had planned to meet on Nov. 16, but that turned out to be the day my great-granddaughter arrived, so we had to reschedule.
It was the most wonderful day! I knew Danni and I had a lot of things in common, but I was amazed at just how many. We were both a few minutes early to meet in the parking lot of Vendor's Mart, but we pulled in at the same time.

Within the first three minutes, I felt like I had known her all my life! We wandered through the HUGE flea market, then over to Dollar Tree, which I do not have close to my home. It was amazing, so many fun things.

After that, we went to a Mexican restaurant for lunch, which Danni very sweetly insisted was her treat. We finished our lunch, then just continued to sit and talk, learning a bit about the history of our lives. Never an awkward pause or  uncomfortable silence, it was like old friends having a weekly lunch. I loved it! Then we were off to the Restore, which I had never been to. Oh my goodness!!! I saw a sofa with matching loveseat as soon as we walked it, and immediately wished I could take it home with me. That place had sooo much stuff! If I had lots of money, and a truck, I would have brought a load of things home with me! As it was, I only bought a few small things, including a BRAND NEW 10" springform pan, for fifty cents!!
I had my camera with me, but we were having such a good time, I forgot to take pictures! I snapped one of the stores ( I should have zoomed closer, but doesn't my new camera take great pictures?!), but not inside the stores, or anything else, darn it.
It was a really wonderful day. Danni is as sweet and down to earth in person as she is online. I really feel like I have made a forever friend, and I can't wait until the next time we get together!

I hope you all have a great day today, too!
Sandra

  2. Aw, thank you, Megan! I wish we could ALL get together and have a big "family reunion"---I guess it would be a "union" since most of us have never met in person, but would that not be fun?!

  5. That sounds like a fun day! Mexican for lunch is one of my favorite things to have. Only then I'm so full from salsa & chips plus my meal that I often skip dinner!

    1. I am sorry I forgot too, Joani! I have been reminding myself for days not to forget it, the night before I put it with my purse, in the morning I put it in my pocket--it was RIGHT THERE and I forgot to take more than the couple of shots!!! But I love it and am taking lots of photos of my furbabies, just to get used to it. Shooting pics of Amaya the first of the week, yay!!! Thank you for visiting. Hugs!
